Annual honesty (Lunaria annua) is an attractive, easy-care plant known for its heart-shaped leaves and violet or white flowers in spring. Its most distinctive feature is its round to oval seed pods, which become transparent and silvery when ripe, giving the plant its name. These seed pods are highly valued in floristry, as they add unique accents to bouquets, wreaths, or arrangements as dried flowers. For dry arrangements, they are harvested once mature and then hung in a dry place to fully dry, retaining their spectacular silver colour and shape. Lunaria annua also attracts bees and other pollinators, making it a valuable plant for ecological gardens.
